Job Description

The Behavioral Health Technician I position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. In this vital role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in recovery by ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting clients through health monitoring, crisis intervention, and facilitating structured activities. Your dedication to client care and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in guiding individuals toward their recovery goals. Key Responsibilities include admitting, supervising, monitoring, transferring, and discharging clients/patients; monitoring vital signs and determining the need for escalation to medical intervention; overseeing medication administration; maintaining accurate records of client medications; facilitating client supervision checks; encouraging adherence to program expectations; documenting and reporting behaviors; assisting in admission/orientation; facilitating group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups; and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Education and experience requirements include a High School education or equivalent and two years of responsible employment, with experience in Human Services or related field preferred. Additional qualifications include successful background checks, current driver’s license and insurance, First Aid and CPR certification, and knowledge of program policies and procedures. Physical requirements involve sedentary work with occasional exertion up to 10 pounds.
