ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title: Associate Investment Analyst (ESG focused)

Hiring Manager: Senior Investment Analyst

Employment: Full-time

Location: New York

Do you like asking lots of questions to learn more about something? Do you love to challenge conventional wisdom, while sorting data and doing research on myriad topics? Then this might be the position for you. This role would work closely with members of our non-traditional team of analysts, providing ESG-focused support in various forms, including responsibilities related to reporting, proxy voting, research and company engagements.

Journalists and former journalists are encouraged to apply as they possess many of the attributes required to succeed in this role.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This role will support the ESG team in various forms, with a focus on responsibilities related to ESG data reporting; Over time, the ability to manage proxy voting, conduct sustainability research and company engagements, are expected to become part of the role, as well as conduct meetings with clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with investment team and RFP team in responding to RFPs questions; assist the stewardship and market-facing teams to complete surveys
• Producing regular portfolio carbon footprint analysis and communicating it to the team
• Conduct company-level ESG analysis and engagement activities
• Preparation of Stewardship reporting for clients.
• Act as trusted point of contact across the business for all ESG related marketing and reporting related materials
• Continuously develop knowledge and understanding of market ESG issues, industry trends, and competitive knowledge
• Analyzing voting items put forth in corporate proxy statements, communicating information and recommendations on key votes among the broader investment team.
• Ensuring the timely and accurate voting of all proxy ballot items, including the recording of details on key votes for use by our investment and distribution teams.
• Becoming a subject matter authority for ESG enquiries

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-5 years of professional experience. ESG knowledge or familiarity also a plus.
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to present in a clear and concise manner in a fast-paced environment.
• An open-minded, entrepreneurial and self-directed person who works well under pressure and can meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Inquisitive attitude, outcome-oriented approach, attention to detail.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills
