Job Description

Couch Group LLC is a commercial construction company based in Alpharetta, GA. We provide construction and renovation services for office, retail, restaurant, medical, salons, shell building, interiors, and niche markets. 

Couch Group is looking for a diligent, dependable, and experienced Assistant Project Manager who shares our passion for excellence. Primary Responsibilities:

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the project team by overseeing the administrative, financial, and technical aspects of a project. This role will collaborate closely with our Project Managers to guarantee that projects are executed in alignment with contractual obligations, design specifications, budgetary constraints, and scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the Project Manager in successful project delivery
  • Communicating with stakeholders about project needs and goals
  • Contributing to project planning and development
  • Supporting project coordination and management
  • Assist in the handling of permitting needs
  • Researching information as required
  • Assisting in the resolution of project issues
  • Ensure that required documentation is filed
  • Assist in creating and managing project budget for all assigned projects
  • Develop and maintain material tracking logs
  • Research, develop and write detailed RFI’s
  • Perform detailed review and processing of project submittals
  • Coordinate with Design team for efficient responses to submittals and RFI’s
  • Create and maintain meeting agenda and meeting minutes
  • Present in weekly project status meetings
  • Assist with planning and managing site logistics
  • Receive and review/evaluate contractor quotations for changes and process change orders
  • Update project schedule; ensure project quality control and establish overall project logistics
  • Assist with project forecasting and month end financial reporting
  • Manage changes and ensure proper distribution of construction documents and/or project scope to ensure that the most current documents are being used
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure materials are available when needed on site
  • Review and verify constructability of plans and specifications
  • Contribute to the buy-out process by requesting and reviewing bids and aligning budgets as necessary to create subcontracts
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented and ability to be self-directed to problem solve issues
  • Strong organizational skills applied to Document Control and Close Out
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Bluebeam, and/or Microsoft Project
  • 2+ years in Commercial Construction
  • 2+ years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
  • 2+ Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts
  • 2+ years preparing subcontract scopes and contracts
  • 2+ years experience with project close out
  • 2+ years working with cost control systems
  • 1+ year working with Microsoft Project
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented and ability to be self-directed to problem solve issues
